Before we get into these insanely fun drinking games you’ve never heard of, we need to first stress that we encourage you to please drink responsibly. These games are only for people at or older than the legal drinking age.

Now onto the fun stuff! Beer pong, flip cup and other popular drinking games for parties are fun every single time. But sometimes you want something new. Sometimes you need to switch things up.

They say you should learn something new everyday. So in the name of education, here are six fun drinking games you’ve probably never played nor heard of before:

Slap Cup

Slap Cup is our staff’s favorite pick. Maybe you’ve played it before, maybe you haven’t. But it deserves a spot on this list. It’s a very messy and fast-moving game, so it’s easier to learn as you play.

The rules are simple– there are about 20+ solo cups in the center of the table filled with a flip cup amount of beer in each. There are also always two empty cups around the table, each paired with a ping pong ball. The object of the game is to bounce the ping pong ball into the cup. If you get it in the first try, you can pass the ball and cup to anyone around the table. If it takes you two or more tries, once you get it in you must pass to your immediate right.

It gets fun when two people next to each other both have a ball and cup. If the person to the left gets it in before the person to the right, the person to the left slaps the person to their right’s empty cup off the table and then passes their cup to the next person to the right. Since there are always two empty cups and balls on the table at one time, the person who just got their cup slapped off the table must grab a cup from the middle, drink the beer, and then begin to bounce the ball into the cup again.

Don’t Drink And Drive

Obviously drinking and driving is horrible. Never do it, not even in a video game. And that’s the premise of this game. It combines Mario Kart with the rule (and law) of never drinking and driving.

The game is simple– a group of people play Mario Kart and start the race with a full beer. You can only drink your beer when you’re not driving, so either when you’ve fallen off the track and need to be reset, or with your hands literally not on the controller and your character not moving. First to finish the race wins, but you cannot finish the race until your beer is finished.

For that nostalgic feeling, this is best played on the vintage Nintendo 64, however newer versions of this game exist for the Switch as well.

Russian Roulette (and Shot Glass Roulette)

You can play the drinking game of Russian Roulette two different ways. But regardless of which way you play, we suggest using vodka shooters instead of straight up shots so the game lasts longer (and it’s played in a much more responsible fashion– we had to say it!).

The first way is using an organized game called Shot Glass Roulette, which you can easily find on Amazon. It’s basically a combination of roulette like you’d find in a casino, and taking shots. Pretty self-explanatory. Can play with as many people as you want.

The second way is sort of thrown together with things you probably already have– cards, a dice and six shot glasses. The rules are simple– fill up one shot glass with a clear liquor like vodka, and the other five shot glasses with water. Then mix them up so you don’t know which one is which. Then take one Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and place one shot glass on top of each card. You simply take turns rolling the dice and you must shoot the number that you land on. Since all the liquids are clear, you’ll never know which one is the vodka until it’s too late. That person is the loser (or winner?).

Civil War

Civil war is like combining flip cup with beer pong, and turning it into a team game. If you know how to play flip cup and beer pong, then the rules are very simple:

You start with a beer pong table and have either two or three people on each side. Each side is one team. In front of each player are 3 or 5 solo cups filled with a flip cup amount of beer in each, set up usually in diamond formation. There are two balls in play if it’s 2v2 and three balls in play if it’s 3v3.

The rules are simple: you can try to sink your shot into anyone’s cup on the other team. Once a cup is hit, that player must drink their cup and then flip it like in flip cup prior to being able to shoot again. The game is played rapid fire, no turns. Last team standing wins.

Fuzzy Duck

Fuzzy Duck sounds like a very simple game, but once you add repetition and alcohol to the mix, all bets are off.

The rules are simple: Everyone sits in a circle. The first person says “Fuzzy Duck”, followed by the next person saying “Ducky Fuzz”, followed by the next person back to saying “Fuzzy Duck”. And so on and so on. The tempo must be steady so there isn’t much time to think. The only twist in the game is if someone says “Duzzy”, which simply flips the direction the game is going in. And the next person must carry on. When someone messes up, they drink. Drink what? Beer, wine or even our favorite, a Moscow Mule, would work in this scenario.

If it sounds simple and stupid, it’s because it is. But with the right crowd, it can be very entertaining. Here’s a video for more explanation-

Most Likely

Most Likely is definitely the simplest game on this list. You simply sit in a circle and take turns finishing the sentence “who’s most likely to ______”. Once the person is done speaking, everyone points to the person in the circle that they believe would actually be most likely to do whatever was said. At the end of every round, the number of people pointing to you is the number of sips you must take of your drink.

This game can range from PG to R, completely depending on the crowd playing. This makes the game very versatile. Because this is a slower, calm game that doesn’t require taking shots of anything, it can be played with beer, a mixed drink or even a fancier cocktail.
